Studio Receptionist / Greeter

Help create a warm and welcoming experience for students and families at New Haven Ballet.

New Haven Ballet is seeking responsible and reliable Studio Receptionists/Greeters who enjoy working with young people and have an interest in dance.

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare studios before classes begin
  • Greet and check in students at the front desk
  • Help ensure students are safely picked up after class
  • Serve as a friendly point of communication for students and families
  • Support a positive and organized studio environment

Schedule: After-school hours and weekends
Position Type: Part-time
Compensation: $17/hour

 

Children’s Division Assistant

Support young dancers as they build confidence, coordination, and a strong classical ballet foundation.

New Haven Ballet is seeking a Children’s Division Assistant with a strong background in classical ballet and experience teaching dance and/or working with children.

This position supports instructors by assisting with classroom instruction and helping students engage with New Haven Ballet’s syllabus and teaching methods.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting instructors during classes
  • Supporting students with technique and classroom participation
  • Helping maintain a positive, structured, and encouraging classroom environment
  • Preparing instructional materials
  • Providing additional support to individuals or small groups of students
  • Assisting with related classroom duties as needed

Successful completion of New Haven Ballet’s training program may lead to future opportunities as a dance instructor.

Schedule: After-school hours and weekends
Position Type: Part-time
Compensation: $17/hour
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working with young children

 

DanceAIR Program Assistant

Help bring the joy and discipline of classical ballet to students throughout the New Haven community.

New Haven Ballet is seeking individuals with a background in classical ballet to support our DanceAIR program instructors in New Haven Public Schools.

DanceAIR is a community outreach program that provides free classical ballet instruction, scholarship opportunities, and performance experiences to students in New Haven Public Schools.

DanceAIR Assistants help instructors by:

  • Supporting dance instruction for individuals and small groups
  • Assisting in elementary school classrooms and other learning environments
  • Encouraging classroom participation and student engagement
  • Preparing instructional materials and classroom resources
  • Following New Haven Ballet’s syllabus and teaching methods
  • Assisting instructors with additional classroom responsibilities as needed

Successful completion of DanceAIR Assistant Training may lead to future opportunities as a DanceAIR instructor.

Schedule: During or after school hours at local New Haven elementary schools
Position Type: Part-time
Compensation: $17/hour
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working with young children

 

Ballet Instructor

Join a dedicated faculty committed to artistic excellence, strong classical training, and inspiring the next generation of dancers.

New Haven Ballet is seeking energetic, highly trained professional dancers with teaching experience to join our faculty.

Ideal candidates will:

  • Have a strong background in classical ballet
  • Be passionate about teaching and mentoring young dancers
  • Bring professionalism, enthusiasm, and artistry to the classroom
  • Be familiar with the Balanchine aesthetic
  • Thrive in a collaborative and student-centered environment

Position Type: Part-time
Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience
